When I have to go light, this is what I bring
I talk about the Solbello Sun Shade often and that’s only because it really is more flexible than other sun shades. I’ve got a small 15-foot center console boat that only has a 60 hp outboard motor on it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the boat, it’s perfect for what we do and the shallow waters around the island. But the overall weight capacity has its limits. When there are just two of us on board, I can take anything I want with us to the sandbar or island. I have to practice some weight management when there's four of us.
I’ve got a number of sun shades to choose from. Some weigh 3 pounds all packaged up and some weigh 45 pounds. And the more people you have at the beach the more shade devices you need to bring. The weight adds up quickly. And that brings me back to the Solbello Sun Shade. It is the lightest setup that mimics the shade pattern that is somewhat like a traditional umbrella. So if I need more shade because of more people, I bring two of them. It stores nearly flat in the rear of the boat, adds little to no weight to the boat, and sets up fast. It’s got to be as close to the perfect boat hauled shade out there. And you can even use it in the rod holders of your boat by removing the auger at the bottom.
