You haven’t seen many of these, but it’s cool.
You can get all of the shade you need out of the SOLI. You just need to manage the options in order to do so. What do I mean by that? Well, as it stands alone, you get plenty of shade for 2, maybe 3 people. Install one of the side panels and you can add 1 or 2 more. Add another panel and…….. you get the message. You don’t want to add to many panels when it’s hot outside because it blocks the wind so well and we don’t want that on a really hot day. BUT, over the winter months when we get really busy at the beach, it’s going to be a perfect option to block the cool wind and help the sun warm you up. The screen panels are good for blocking a percentage of the sun as well. The bottom of the panels do not seal to the ground in any way so you’re not going to keep every flying bug out, but it will help.
Putting the SOLI up is a breeze, literally. Could be easier. Taking it down is more of an effort because you need to get all the air out so it will fit into the backpack. Make sure you use the cordless pump to get all the air out of the SOLI and fold it up. With a few trips under your belt you’ll be proficient at it in no time.
My last point would be the wind. I’d put it up in 10 mph winds but I might take a different shade with me in 15 mph winds. The tent stakes don’t work well in the sand we have here at that level of wind speed. Hope you enjoy the video!
